Door security for companies is crucial to protect employees from dangerous situations. Working safely with machines every day and returning home unharmed at the end of the day, that's what we want. This is possible with the Haake HST® Trapped Key Interlock systems, with which performance Level d or PLd is easy to realize. To get a better picture in which practical situation a certain configuration of the Haake HST® Trapped Key Interlock system is applied, we give a few examples here. Because every application is unique, our advisors are happy to help determine the key operation plan.

Situation 1: Machine without rundown time and 1 door with partial body access

  • The machine is switched off with a switching element and has no shutdown time after switching off and stops immediately.
  • After the machine has been switched off, you want to access 1 hatch with 1 key by means of a door interlock.
  • The hatch provides only partial body access to the machine.
  • After the hatch is closed again, the key is released and the machine can be switched on again with this key using the switching element.

Used components in this situation

  • Switching elements

The locking mechanism is an industrial lock with side locking. It is used on hinged parts of machines such as entrance doors, hatches, flaps. The door can be opened by using an encrypted key.

Situation 2: Machine without rundown time and 1 door with full body access

  • The machine is switched off with a switching element and has no shutdown time after switching off and stops immediately.
  • After the machine has been switched off, you want to open 1 door with 1 key.
  • The door provides full body access to the machine.
  • The operator takes a secondary key from the door interlock with him during the work in the machine environment.
  • After the hatch is closed again and both keys are back in the door interlock, the primairy key is released and the machine can be switched on again.

Situation 3: Machine with rundown time and 1 door with partial body access

  • The machine is switched off by means of a switching element and has a rundown time.
  • The primairy key is only released via a solenoid lock when the machine has come to a complete stop.
  • After the key has been released, you can open 1 hatch via a door interlock.
  • The hatch provides only partial body access to the machine.
  • After the hatch is closed again, the key is released and the machine can be switched on again with this key using the switching element.

Used components in this situation

  • Switching element with time delay

    Switching element with time delay

The switching element with time delay is used to cut off the power supply to the circuits of machines or installations, gradually with ramp-down time, with rated currents up to 20A.

Situation 4: Shut down main machine, activate part of the machine for maintenance and testing purposes

  • The machine is switched off by means of a switching element (with or without rundown time)
  • After the machine is switched off, you want to access 1 door with 1 key to a location where a part of a machine must be switched on for maintenance or testing purposes.
  • The door provides full body access to the machine.
  • The operator takes the secundairy key from the door interlock with him. Using this key the operator is able to activate a part of the machine for maintenance or testing purposes by means of a second switching element.
  • This makes it impossible to switch on the main machine during this procedure.
  • After this sub part of the machine has been switched off and the secundairy key has returned to the full body access door interlock, the primairy key is released, after which the main machine can be switched on again via the primairy switching element.

Situation 5: Machine without rundown time and multiple doors with partial body access

  • The machine is switched off by means of a switching element and has no rundown time.
  • After the machine has been switched off, the primary key can be used for the key change station.
  • The primary key allows you to release multiple secondary keys on the key change station.
  • The secondary keys can be used to open multiple hatches or doors via a door interlock for partial body access.
  • The primary key cannot be released from the key change station until all secondary keys have been returned.
  • The machine can be switched on again after the primary key has been released from the key change station.

    Key exchange stations

In tegenstelling…
