The bks and bks+ web edge control sensors from microsonic are designed in a fork housing. The transmitter and receiver are placed opposite of each other in the same housing with these sensors. The material moving in the fork opening blocks part of the emitted sound that reaches the receiver. This allows the position between the fork to be determined with great accuracy.

The bks-3/CIU is an ultrasonic sensor for web guiding control with a 6 mm range. Ideal for controlling the web side of highly transparent materials such as thin films. Equipped with 4-20 mA and 0-10 Vdc output.

The ultrasonic sensors for web edge control are available with a measuring range of 6, 12 or 40 mm and achieve a maximum resolution of 0.01 mm. The sensors are equipped with an analog output, 0-10 Vdc and 4-20 mA. The new bks+ series also supports the new industrial standard IO-Link and is equipped with a digital web-break output. The ultrasonic operating principle is ideal for controlling the web run of paper, metal sheets, but also for transparent films.
